List of stuff we could do/random ideas

Environment - plants, trees, rocks, water/liquid energy, day/night, city/country, lights, scenery and backdrop, lava

Forces - gravity, wind, friction

Setting - time, reality, planet, language, species

Cars/ships - sleek looking, futuristic, old, steam punk, thrusters, guns, panels, damage, metal, glass, shiny, rusted, spikes, alternate weapons, speed, boost, science behind operation, pilot

Characters - people, robots, aliens

Damage - multiple damage states on cars/ships, different textures, limited control, how to fix damage, charge money for repair at end of race, fall off track to death or reset, could have ejector seat button, if pressed before death saves you some money, camera follow pilot flying into air and look down on explosion.

Audio - music, car sounds, environment sounds, weapon sounds, voices, commentary

Weapons - pick up/ customise before race, only become active after first lap? Have all weapons on car already, several slots, they become active when driving over certain markers

Track - floor material (dirt, tarmac, metal), corners, linear/lap based loop/ free roam multi path with checkpoints, road camber, shortcuts, road height, wide open areas, bridges, train crossings, other civilian car/ships? No track at all, have infinite wasteland, flying through space, commercial raceway or underground, demolition derby

Story

Animation - cutscenes, start video, weapons, vehicles, get into vehicle at start of race, press switches etc, environmental animation, train, flash flood, volcano eruption, earthquake, falling rocks

Score/currency - used to buy more vehicles/weapons/upgrades, obtained by completing contracts for companies, get different promotions, use special weapons in a race by a certain company in order to get extra points.

2 player online/local split screen

Multiple camera system

Controls - accelerate, brake, weapons, semi auto pilot, damage

Birds/animals

Wormholes

Shortcuts

Tubes

Airship

Auto turrets

Shields/health, way of recharging

Particle systems - fog, clouds, fire, thrusters/jets, energy, snow, electrical storm, smoke, explosions

Colour schemes, different companies/factions/personal styles

Atmospheric lighting - lit tunnels combined with fog etc

Overhanging rock, cliff edge

Prevent players from going the wrong way
